Letting life’s challenges interrupt your potential is understandable but dangerous.

Rocket Fuel for Your Kite is a story of later-in-life hearing loss that leads to an unmistakable life of completeness. Through stories told by author Jodi Costa, you can relate to how the isolation of your disability can set you on a direct course to depression and loss of self.

However, through the strength of God, humor, and grit, you can have a better relationship with your disability. Jodi will show you how allowing space to shed the negative mindset towards your inabilities can invite inner positive energy to soar with possibilities.

And though your condition may not improve, your life will. You’ll owe it all to the opportunities that your disability has gifted you.

I really loved this true success story!! Easy to read, easy to relate to, regardless of whether you have a hearing loss or a different disability!

I laughed, I cried, I cheered, and at the end of every chapter, the author has you ask yourself questions in “your turn”. It forces you to ask yourself the sometimes tough but important questions that you need to answer so you can soar to new highs!

I can’t recommend this book enough, it should be required reading in grade school, in my humble opinion! – RG

Rocket Fuel for Your Kite by Jodi Costa is such a great story of her hearing loss journey.

Jodi is uniquely qualified to write a book full of encouragement and humor. Love how she shares her story of Hope, and the reader can easily relate no matter what they are going through. Highly recommend this book and a fun easy read for all!

This is “light” look at a heavy subject. The author does this with such grace, and in a way that I am sure reflects how she lives her life. It is a fast read, but the thought prompts at the end of each chapter really made me stop and turn inward. I think this is a book that I will pull out and reread when life throws me the inevitable curveballs that we all face from time to time.

I spent every extra minute of 2 days reading this book. I have so many wonderful things to say about Jodi’s book and feel that I need to go back, page by page, and tell you everything that I loved about it!

I love her writing style and her beautiful and fun personality. I seriously was laughing throughout and then a few pages later, crying. I appreciate so much that she put her journey on paper for all to read and made it so relatable for anyone who is struggling with anything.

This book has helped me with coping strategies and reminded me to take better care of my well-being. The way it was laid it out, made it so simple to follow and easy steps to do for coping.

I love all the quotes used and they were all placed perfectly. The spacing made it an easy read. Just so many little details that many may not notice but I can tell she took great care with.

The words written in this book were exactly what I needed right now in my life and I’m so thankful that I bought it and am excited to share with others!

I had the opportunity to work with Jodi back when (I believe) she was a Sr in High School. She was the hardest, most dedicated worker I’ve ever met. Quickly rising to key carrying Supervisor. Jodi’s bubbly personality would win a Scrooge over. Years of lost contact, I was thrilled to see her on F.B., just learning of her hearing loss. I admit my 1st thought was, “Miss Personality Jodi can handle anything!” This book opened my eyes to what hearing loss (or many, many other disabilities she brings up) could do to you socially. The realities of so many interactions hearing loss would affect. What I believe Jodi shows is avenues, ideas, and solutions to overcoming how you handle your disability. How to Rocket Fuel Your Kite.
